By now I’m sure you’ve all heard of strobing, it’s the idea of highlighting without contouring. When done right, it can give your face a healthy glow, when done the wrong way it can look like you just finished a 45 minute Cycle House session. Here’s how to get the glow for a look that’s subtle and never sweaty.
Start with the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance. If you’ve been watching my videos for a long time you know that this is the primer I use more than any other. Even if you aren’t going for a glowy look, this primer adds that “lit from within” look we all crave.
I’ve been using the Laura Mercier primer for so long, I actually think it was the first primer I ever purchased. Recently I started playing with the coordinating foundation and it looks absolutely beautiful with the primer. The foundation I’m using is the Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide. I don’t want to completely mask the primer so to make sure it’s the sheerest possible, I use a sponge for this step.
Next a little concealer. I apply it under the eye in a triangular shape that way it covers my circles and acts as a highlighter as well. I’m skipping the contouring altogether for this look and will rely on highlighters only to add dimension and definition to my face.
Now I’m going to add a bit of shimmer and a light flush with the Candleglow Luminizing Palette. I mixed the shades “Glimmer” and “Radiance” to get this peachy, golden shade.
To balance out the strobing on my cheekbones, I add a bit of brightness to my inner eye area. A tiny bit of “Spark” eyeshadow from the same palette is all you need.
The lip color I’m wearing is part of the Laura Mercier Lip Glacé collection and you can get their Kajal D’Orient Eye Liner (great for a subtle smudge) right here.
Here’s the finished look!
I get a lot of questions about how to pull off different beauty looks and in my opinion it’s all about confidence. Laura Mercier is all about flawless makeup that never tries too hard. That’s French girl beauty, after all. To celebrate 20 years of flawlessness, they created this adorable video. Doesn’t it remind you of Madeline?
