Dewy skin is a lusted look from Korean to the US. But the Korean beauty market has really nailed the products to get this look, which isn’t to be confused with oily or greasy. Dewy skin looks youthful, hydrated and clean. But what are the best products?! Well, I tried out a ton of new K Beauty products from Sephora to give you a review of my favorites, what to buy, try or skip.
DR JART BB BEAUTY BALM
In Korean beauty what I’ve learned is that the women want perfect looking skin without all the heavy products. To achieve the look, they use a simple BB cream that serves many purposes including sun protection. For this, try Dr Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm . BB Creams have multipurpose to hydrate, prime, protect, and give coverage to the skin. Pros: medium coverage, dewy, long lasting, smooth finish, and moisturizing.
Caolion Premium Hot & Cool Pore Pack Duo
To get that K beauty skin, you want to eliminate pores to have flawless skin. So I tested out the Hot and Cold pore pack to open and clean out your pores. You use this product in two steps; first a steaming mask that opens and deep cleans pores, then a cooling mask to tighten and minimize the appearance of pores. This product is so effective you can literally feel it cleaning your skin as it dries. Pros: effective, works on blackheads, multipurpose, high quality.
EGG MOUSE SOAP
Ok I know, egg mouse soap just sounds weird. When you dispense the product, it comes out just like a hair mouse and feels like a shaving gel. But, the face wash is infused with egg yolk extract that hydrates and purifies your skin. After using it my skin felt incredible, but think of this as just a face wash not a makeup remover you’ll need a wipe or oil for that so use this in addition to a makeup remover. Pros: tightens skin, gently cleanser, feels good on the skin
Erborian Solid Cleansing Oil
Ok I’ll be honest, I’ve never used a solid cleansing oil before. I have a liquid version and this is unlike any product I’ve ever tested out and I’m glad I did. From traveling frequently, my skin tends to get a little dry in some areas (I have combination skin). Using cleansing oils have become a new addition to my skincare regimen, especially with Winter coming up we all might need a little help with hydration. This product has Korean herbs to cleanse your skin skin and also removes makeup all in one. But because its a solid, it doesn’t feel as liquid-y as using a cleansing oil to wash your face. When you use it its a solid but as you massage it into your skin, it turns into a liquid to clean your skin and get rid of makeup. Then when you are done, you rinse off your face and its already moisturized. Pros: smells good, thick consistency, highly effective, moisturizing, multipurpose
Shiseido Eudermine Revitalizing Essence + Facial Cotton
If you want to hydrate your skin but want something lighter than a moisturizer, this is the product for you. The revitalizing essence hydrates your skin and can be used after you wash your face. It is really light weight, smells amazing and has been a staple in Japan since 1897. I applied it using their facial cotton and it comes with instructions how to swab the product over your face. Pros: not drying, scented, light weight, hydrating, good for all skin types
Boscia Sake Balm
Ok so sake isn’t just to drink, its good for your skin too. This product isn’t your regular moisturizer, it has a gel-texture moisturizer infused with sake. After I tried it on clean skin, it was really hydrating and made my skin feel supple. To get that dewy skin look, this is the perfect base to look young and radient without being greasy. Pros: lightweight, majorly hydrating, absorbs quickly
Dr. Jart + Water Fuse Water-Max Sleeping Mask
If you are looking for a mask to wear over night to wake up with extremely hydrated skin, try this one by Dr Jart. It also has a gel consistency but is weightless, and is to be used to lock in moisture and nutrients while you get your beauty sleep. Pros: free of parabens, free of alcohol, refreshing, not sticky, works over night
