I think it’s important to switch up your skincare routine every few months, but when I find something I really, really love, it becomes a staple. If you’ve been following me for a while you may notice that I’ve switched up cleansers, serums, and moisturizers over the years, but I wanted to share with you guys a new secret weapon that has become a crucial part of my nightly routine. It’s gentle, drug-free and works for a variety of skin types.
Over the years I’ve managed to get my acne under control for the most part, but every now and then I get a pesky breakout that needs extra attention. Harsh acne treatments can make the problem worse, that’s why I prefer these super gentle Nexcare Acne Absorbing Covers. Find one that’s about the size of your pimple, peel it off, press the edges to be sure it sticks, and that’s it. They absorb oil from clogged pores while you sleep. They’re so discreet you can actually wear them in the daytime too, under your makeup of course. You can find them on Amazon.com starting at $7.99.
So the next part of my nighttime routine involves all the products you see here. I set my alarm, turn on my humidifier, snap in my retainer, then start to prepare for bed. If you have trouble getting a good night’s rest, try smelling a little lavender right before bed. It works like a charm, I even bring it with me on long flights. The last thing I do before I go to sleep is hold my gratitude rock and think of things I’m grateful for.
What does your nighttime routine consist of? Have you tried the Nexcare Acne Absorbing Covers? I wanna hear from you guys, let’s get a slumber party goin’ in the comments

I didn’t even know the acne absorbing covers even existed. I usually just cleanse and tone and then relax with a lavender candle and a book.

I haven’t tried those yet, but thanks for the tip! 2 of my night time favorites are SK-ll Treatment Essence, and Fresh’s Black Tea overnight mask.

Thanks for the Nexcare tip, I’m going to try that. I find that using the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta(R) Peel (Sephora) works wonders for acne, and clears up clogged pores (bumpy skin from make up and build up). I have sensitive and dry skin, so using these once in a while works great. I also use Artistry Youth Xtend™ Advanced Softening Toner, I’ve used that for years now, and it helps to absorb product efficiently, and is gentle for periodic acne breakouts.

Marianna, you are so right about the lavender. I recently had a medical problem and used it to sooth my pain and relax. I rubbed lavender on my lower abdominal, temples and inhaled it a few times before bed or to just relax. It really works. Essential oils are beyond belief affective. (In my opinion) I’m a medical journalist in MS and I have been meaning to do an article about essential oils. Thanks for this post. Your blog and YouTube channel are inspirational.

Marianna,
In your snapchat I believe you used a diffuser or humidifier. Which one do you use again?
Thanks
