Although I permanently reside in Los Angeles, I love adding some fun outerwear to my closet every winter. Thankfully I get to travel to cooler climates pretty often and can incorporate these statement jackets and coats to my outfits while I’m on a different coast. One of my all-time favorite outerwear trends is faux fur. There are so many different styles from pastels to oversized to cropped and more that you can add to your closet to create some cool, edgy looks. Another great thing about faux fur is that you can get some accessories out of it too. I’ve found some faux fur bags, scarves, and beanies to pack for my winter travels that I really love.
Ahead, I’m sharing some of my favorite faux fur styles and how I pair them with the rest of my wardrobe. Check them out and you can shop the pieces directly from this post!
I’ve always gravitated towards a lighter color palette, and I love pastel-hued faux fur. Whether it’s soft pink or lilac, the different shades add a pop of color to any outfit. I like to pair these with light denim and a white t-shirt or bodysuit. You can dress this look up or down with heels, booties, or sneakers.
Since I’m petite, I need to be weary of oversized items, but I love oversized faux fur. I prefer an oversized fit rather than a style that’s extra long because of my height. These are usually a little extra fluffy or come in some edgy patterns and textures that can be fun to mix and match with.
I feel as though cropped jackets are a fashion staple at this point. They allow you to show more of your outfit, while still making a statement with your outerwear. I like a more vibrant color, fun print, or trend-forward option for my cropped jackets.
As I mentioned above, when it comes to faux fur it’s not all about jackets and coats—you can find some great accessories too. If you don’t want to step out of the house in a fluffy piece, try something like a scarf or a bag instead. If you’d rather have just a small hint of faux fur, you can opt for a smaller accessory such as a pom-pom beanie.
