As I’ve gotten to learn more about beauty products and the contents inside of them, I’ve learned a lot about my skin as well. I love skincare, and it’s obviously what inspired me to launch Summer Fridays and create products that cater to my skin concerns as well as yours. One practice that’s been getting a lot of buzz lately is multi-moisturizing.
I’ve always been a fan of layering products in order to ensure that my skin is left silky smooth, and help target my exact skin needs. So, how do you multi-moisturize? Well, the good news is there are more ways than one and they don’t all involve solely face creams. Some of us have dry skin, some have oily, and many of us have a combination of the two—so why not combine moisturizing agents? Think of multi-moisturizing as an extra step for personalizing your skincare routine.
How to Multi-Moisturize
The first step to take if you want to try multi-moisturizing is identifying the moisture levels in different parts of your face. For a lot of us, our t-zone area tend to be oilier than our cheeks. Cleanse your face and take the time to notice which areas are drier than others and vice versa. This way you can identify which areas need a richer moisturizer and which areas need a more lightweight formula.
You can also multi-moisturize in layers, meaning that you can apply a product such as a moisturizing mask followed by a face cream or oil. When my skin is feeling extra dry, I’ll take a hydrating serum or lightweight moisturizer and layer it with the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask since it doesn’t need to be washed off. This allows my skin to really absorb moisturizing ingredients on a much deeper level than usual.
