WELCOME TO NYC! I cannot believe this is my eighth New York Fashion Week. Each season just keeps flying by and I am so happy to be here once again. I will be updating this post daily with what I am doing and outfit posts and details.
Also if you missed the post on Instagram, I am extending #5MinuteFam to last all day long during fashion week until September 14th. So any comments on any new photos for the day count towards the giveaway and I will pick one winner and announce every morning on Instagram stories.
DAY 1 – SEPTEMBER 6
This morning started with Crest where we learned about their new whitening toothpaste. I know some people get concerned about what this may do to your teeth so these new formulas are healthy and give you beauty benefits of whiter teeth. One formula was for sensitive teeth and the other to protect your enamel. I’m no dentist but they sounded pretty cool, I left with tubes of both to try so if my smile is extra shiny – you’ll know why.
After that I stopped by the CFDA + Intermix incubator at their store in Meatpacking then made my way over to Chinatown for the E! + Elle Magazine + TRESemme party. I stopped by the red carpet, took some photos and had a quick interview then it was off to the Tom Ford show.
That evening I was invite to the Tom Ford show and it was such an honor. I could only have dreamed to be invited to one of the shows. It was only a few years ago that I started attending fashion weeks and sending my requests to so many different designers only to get turned down or be given a standing seat – so I am always grateful when I get to attend shows like these.
After the Tom Ford show (which featured models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid) there was an after party with male models with shorts, no shirts and trays of shake shack – perfection! The last event of the evening was the Bulgari party, so I got in my Uber and headed to the 1 Hotel in Brooklyn – which by the way is so cool – to celebrate their newest fragrance with Bella Hadid and that was a wrap for my first full NYFW day.
The second day of NYFW was just as eventful as the first. Chanel who you may have seen in vlogs or Instagram stories is my assistant and she’s traveling here with me to New York and got a little cold so I headed out to the first half of my day solo. The first stop was a lunch with Victoria’s Secret hosted by one of their Angel’s Josephine Skriver. Before sitting down to eat we snapped a selfie then I learned about their new Love fragrance.
After lunch I made my way to the Rebecca Minkoff showroom for a fitting. I am attending their show on Saturday and picked out an outfit to wear – so excited! Then from the RM showroom I went to the Shopbop pop-up where they launched their rebrand. The new logo, site and photography look so amazing I was obsessed – they even had puppies to play with that were all available to adopt.
For the evening my friend Kathleen, who is also in NY as a TRESemme stylist for NYFW, came along with me to Brooklyn for a really exciting event. We went to celebrate the launch of Fenty Beauty and got to be in the presence of Rihanna ask she revealed the line, played with products and even joked around with Joanne the Scammer.
We walked around the event and got color matched for the foundations, which come in 40 shades! They are all about inclusion and pricing that is affordable to most. They launched in Sephora last night so you should definitely check it out.
After the Fenty Beauty launch we went to Refinery29’s 29 Rooms – which is a warehouse turned art exhibit with 29 rooms all created with different purposes and meanings. It was so much fun and if you are in the area you can stop by to get tickets.
