Now that spring is finally here, it’s time to transition our wardrobes for the season. We all appreciate seasonal trends, even if that just means adding a piece or two to our wardrobes. Spring is the time for music festivals, outdoor lunches, and the shift to warmer weather. It’s also time to ditch the coats, bring out the dresses, adds pops of color to your everyday looks. I’m rounding up some of my favorite spring trends for the 2019 season, and some great pieces to help you add these trends to your wardrobe. Happy spring shopping!
I’m sure you’ve seen a ton of boiler suits, utility pants, and utility jackets out and about as of late. That’s because utility pieces are trending. Think wide-legged pants, structured skirts, and oversized jackets just to name a few pieces. This trend seems long-lasting as many utility pieces are form-flattering for everyone and often come in a variety of neutral colors.
This has been one of my favorite trends over the last year. The biker short trend is so versatile and can easily be dressed up or down. Whether you’re pairing it with trainers or heels, it’s so easy to make this trend your own and wearable for plenty of occasions. You can get a solid-colored pair or patterned ones if you’d some more detail. You’ll also see a lot of animal print biker shorts making the scene this season.
This is another spring trend that isn’t exactly new. Slip dresses seem to always be trending and I’ve had a few of my own. The comfortable, silky dresses can be worn everywhere from the office to a night out with the girls. It’s another trend to easily mix and match with pieces already found in your closet.
This trend was huge during fashion month and designers certainly didn’t disappoint. We can now find micro bags in nearly every store, both affordable and luxe. The designs include everything from mini totes to tiny backpacks. If you have a lot to carry often, then these obviously aren’t ideal, but they do make a cute addition to everyone’s closet.
Another one of my favorite trends is perspex shoes. I know that at first, they can look a bit intimidating or hard to walk in, but I’ve grown to love them so much. I have pairs in nude and black and both closed-toed and open-toed options. Perspex shoes are paired well with jeans, dresses, biker shorts—you name it. I love wearing mine everywhere from events, dinners, meetings, etc. Whether you prefer strappy sandals or a mule, there’s a perfect pair for you and your style.
Neons have been trending a lot since fall. Bright sweaters, tops, and dresses were all over during fall and winter and are working their way into spring. Lime green, in particular, is having a huge moment this spring. You can expect to see lime green in mini dresses, crop tops, and swimwear for the warmer months. It’s a fun way to add a pop of color (literally) to your outfits.
