There’s a common misconception that there’s no such thing as a “real winter” on the west coast. LA residents know that this isn’t exactly the case. Since LA is a desert climate we can have warm days and cold, windy nights. It’s not exactly nonstop sunshine. Spend an entire day out and although you may be able to get by with a tank and jeans in the morning, by the early evening you’ll definitely be needing a layer or two.
I love to play with textures when I really wanna feel wintery vibes. Mixing knits with leather, suede, metallics, and velvet is my way of bringing more traditional winter style elements to a west coast winter.
This entire look I’m wearing is from Macy’s Bar III collection. The line is all about day to night, work to cocktails dressing, but what attracted to me to these pieces most was their versatility and — you guessed it — their beautiful textures.
The knit tank I’m wearing is in one of my favorite hues, rose gold. I plan on wearing it over and over this season, layering it under faux furs, moto jackets, and tailored calf-length coats.
Another item I plan on rewearing are these velvet leggings by Bar III. They’re comfy, have a great fit, and could totally work with a bell-sleeved blouse or a vintage tee and booties. My peep-toe mules are also by Bar III. (I know, I know, it’s technically a sandal and it’s technically winter but hey, it’s California.)
The Flyaway Faux Leather Jacket is probably my favorite part of the outfit. I’m wearing the Pearly Sand shade but I could totally see myself styling the black, maroon, navy, taupe, and off-white colorways with neutral sweaters all season long.
Head to Macy’s.com to shop my look and similar pieces by Bar III. I’m sure you all will love the versatile, day-to-night collection as much as I do. Be sure to tag me in your pics so I can see how you style the collection.
