By now you’ve probably seen the posts on instagram raving and sharing about the famed Silisponge or Silicone Sponge that originated from Molly Cosmetics. This is a makeup tool or “sponge” that looks kind of like a silicone boob insert you would put into your bra! The first time I saw this concept being used was Huda Beauty’s dupe using a boob insert to apply her foundation! Then I saw it all over instagram, youtube and even major news sites like the Today show.
But if you’re wondering, does it work? Where can I buy the silisponge? Well I’m here to share a review, first impressions and comparison of the Silisponge that I purchased from Amazon to my favorite tool, the Beautyblender.
I wanted to review the product and do a first impressions to see if this product really lived up to the hype. I started by first prepping my skin with Urban Decay’s Optical Illusion Complexion primer to give my foundation a good base to start. I then applied my favorite Armani foundation followed by NARS creamy concealer. Then for my contour and highlight, I did a combination of Tarte’s PRO glow highlight & contour palette and Glossier’s haloscope in moonstone. To see how the sponge worked out, check out the video.
