I promise you, your pantry will be your best friend after you read this and your skin will thank you. Ahead, five easy DIY skincare hacks that you should try at home today.
Spot Treatment
Dealing with a sudden pimple or a few blemishes? All you need are three ingredients to tackle that while you sit at home and catch up on some Netflix. The mixture below draws out any impurities from your pores, kills bacteria, but does not dry out your skin like a lot of acne treatments usually do.
- 1/2 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
- 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 Teaspoon Organic Honey
Exfoliating Face Scrub
To get rid of any of dead skin cells, you’ll want to use the same ingredients as the spot treatment above, but you’ll swap the baking soda for brown sugar and add olive oil. Exfoliation is a crucial step in any skincare routine, as it helps resurface the overall texture of your skin and unclogs your pores.
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Organic Honey
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
Lip Scrub
Nobody likes having dry, chapped lips and it’s so easy to make your lip scrub to get them nice and smooth. You can add in your favorite essential oils to the base of this once you’re done for a personal scent.
- 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Organic Honey
- 2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
Makeup Remover
Because I have sensitive skin, I always have to be careful with certain makeup removers. A lot of makeup remover wipes or astringents can strip the natural oils of your skin and cause it to become dry and irritated, and nobody wants that. This simple mix is a more natural, gentle way of removing your makeup and ensuring you get it all of.
- 1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
Body Scrub
It’s just as important to exfoliate the rest of your body as it’s essential to exfoliate your face. Exfoliating once a week will help stimulate circulation and reduce the appearance of cellulite, get rid of dead skin cells, and improve your skin tone. If you’re heading in for a spray tan or a wax, exfoliating your body beforehand is just as important. This combination will leave your entire body feeling both smooth and invigorated.
- 1/2 Cup Ground Coffee
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Coconut Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
