What better way to start off your birthday that on vacation? That is exactly how I wanted to kick off this new year in my life with a much needed trip to Mexico after a month long stint of fashion weeks around the world. Cabo San Lucas is one of my favorite destinations and is just a short two hour flight from Los Angeles.
This trip I stayed at The Resort at Pedregal and if you saw my instagram pictures or snapchats, you saw how dreamy it was. When traveling for vacation, I prefer to stay at hotels that I don’t have to leave the property for at all and this is exactly that. Once I arrived, I didn’t leave Pedregal until it was time to check out.
Pedregal is built into the cliffs which gives the hotel a beautiful backdrop with all rooms facing the ocean. They made sure when I arrived, it was easy to find the drive to take me directly to the hotel which took about 30-45 minutes from the airport.
There are a few types of rooms here and I stayed in a beach front suite that was its own little casita. With a private pool and beach area I even had my own server that came by! This is perfect if you want a little more privacy but still have all the amenities. My favorite part of the room was the option to have an indoor/outdoor shower with a view of the beach.
For breakfast, you can order room service but I preferred to go to their incredible breakfast buffet. There is a fresh juice and smoothie bar *score!*, tons of fresh pastries and fruits and eggs. The breakfast is not one to miss, so if you stay here be sure to get it.
I spent my days by the adult pool, there is a kid friendly one as well which is great for families or for me great to be away from that one. The pool features a swim up bar, pictured below, where I had the most delicious guava margaritas. After a day in the sun, my body was so exhausted from traveling that I went to the Luna y Mar spa for a massage. I have terrible knots in my shoulder so it was great to relax and have my body worked on.
There are a few places for dinner at Pedregal but the notable one is El Farallon. This restaurant is built into the cliffs and looks unreal that they were able to create this restaurant in the space. The tables face the ocean with waves crashing on the rocks and is one of the coolest restaurants I’ve seen. Each day, they catch local fish and when you walk in you can pick from the daily catch to have cooked for you right there. I had the sea bass and it was the best sea bass I’ve ever had!
Between the food, the staff and how easy the concierge made our stay – it was absolutely perfect and I couldn’t have spent my birthday in a better way. If traveling to Cabo San Lucas, I couldn’t think of a better place to book your stay than The Resort at Pedregal. I’m sure it will be as magical as mine!
