By now you guys are aware of how important it is to buy skincare products that cater to your specific skin type. If you have dry skin, you shouldn’t be using products that are formulated to help acne-prone skin and so on. Today I want to talk about oily skin because it seems to be the skin type that people have the most questions about.
Now, you all know I swear by using serums during both day and night. Yet, many of you with oily skin don’t know where to start or which serums to incorporate into your own routine. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to stay away from using several products and can have a normal skincare routine just like everyone else. Below I’m breaking down the benefits of using a serum, even if you have oily skin, along with some of my favorite oily-friendly options to shop from.
Why Use Serum?
With the right ingredients, serum can help transform the texture and condition of your skin in the long run. Daily use of a serum adds some necessary nutrients and ingredients that your skin wouldn’t get otherwise. Serum can also penetrate the skin well below the surface to get the most benefits.
What Kind of Serum Should I Use?
For those with oily skin, using a serum with a lighter formula is the best way to go to not clog your pores. Your skin is already obviously producing a large amount of oil on its own, so you don’t want to trigger it to produce so much sebum that you flare up and get a breakout. Anything with a consistency that’s too thick or feels heavy is not the way to go if you have oily skin.
