Wearing highlighter can complete any neutral or glammed out makeup look. The shimmery, radiant product is loved by all of us in the community and elsewhere. Highlighter helps enhance your favorite features with a healthy glow, and a minimal amount of product. I’ve always loved a dewy and illuminating makeup look, but they’re definitely more flattering in the warm summer months.
In order to know the right places to apply your highlighter, you’ll need to create a face map. Because all of our features are unique, we can’t all contour and highlight the same way. When in doubt, touch your face and find the hollows of your cheek and apply it directly above each one, preferably above a bronzer for contouring.
If you’re unsure of which formula to use when it comes to highlighter, it’s all a process of trial and error. You’re aware of which finishes work best with your own skin and makeup routine, but there’s nothing wrong with exploring your options. For summer I like to alternate between liquid highlighters and powders that aren’t so heavy. Even if I’m wearing a minimal amount of product on my skin, the sunlight reflects beautifully against it, making your highlighter glow even more.
