I’m happy you all are loving my denim outfit series! I got a request to give the denim on denim trend a day to night spin— challenge accepted!
Last time around I answered questions about light wash denim and showed you how I wear them from day to night, this time around I’m going to do the same thing and show you all how I do the “Canadian Tuxedo.”
It took me a few tries to find the perfect combination in my wardrobe. (I’m sure you all know denim-on-denim can go really wrong, really quickly.) In my opinion it all comes down to having the perfect contrast between your shirt and your jeans; finding the right balance between light and dark, flowy versus fitted. For daytime I went with a semi-loose light blue denim shirt, True Religion halle super skinny jeans, and orange loafers. It’s really hard me to find jeans that hold their stretch but still feel soft. This pair is a classic wash and they pretty much go with everything.
For night time I swapped out my flats for my favorite mules and a nude bag. I decided to treat my denim shirt like a blouse and tuck it in for an even dressier look. If you notice, for daytime I wore the jeans cuffed, but for nighttime I folded them inward instead. It’s crazy how simply tucking in your top and un-cuffing your jeans can make such a huge difference. Comment below and tell me what denim looks or outfit posts you’d all like to see next!
